• The seller settlement logic is highly complicated. The DA team needs to compile and analyse data from multiple sources and tabulate 10 reports to track sales order volumes and values, compute multiple deductions (returns, cashback, service fees) and a quarterly GMV-based "burn share" fee.
• This requires the processing of 75+ large files of 180GB each. The file upload alone would take up to two hours per file, while processing such heavy files required expensive compute time on VMs
• Manual workflows for uploading and processing such heavy files were time consuming and delayed management reports by 10+ days
• To accurately compute seller settlements, the team had to reconciling data from sales, returns, payments, inventory, and logistics, plus manual overrides from customer support (CX).
• Delays and errors in calculations led to incorrect seller payouts, strained seller relationships, and losses in the form of uncollected fees
